At the San Diego Transformation Center, we recognize that stable housing is a crucial part of sustained recovery. While we do not provide transitional housing directly, we maintain strong relationships with a network of independent, reputable housing providers. This allows us to help clients access a variety of supportive living environments that meet high standards for care, safety, and service—while also helping to reduce overall costs.
Important Facts About Transitional Housing
- Arrangements Made on Your Behalf: Our admissions and case management team can assist you in making arrangements with trusted transitional housing providers. We coordinate with providers to help you find options that align with your needs and recovery plan.
- Client Responsibility for All Costs: All housing costs are the sole responsibility of the client. Transitional housing is not operated, managed, or paid for by the San Diego Transformation Center or your insurance provider. Payment is made directly to the housing provider.
- Payment Plans & Financial Support: Many providers offer payment plans or sliding scale fees for clients experiencing financial hardship.
- Multiple Levels & Options: Our network includes a range of housing options—such as homes for couples, single men and women, enhanced support residences (with meals, transportation, and group activities), and basic room-and-board options. Each has its own pricing and amenities to match different needs and budgets.
- No Guarantee of Housing: Enrollment in a treatment program at our facility does not guarantee placement in transitional housing. Housing providers are independent entities and may set their own eligibility criteria, rules, and requirements. They reserve the right to refuse service or terminate housing based on their policies.
- High Standards, Lower Costs: We partner only with providers who meet rigorous standards for safety and care, ensuring clients have access to quality housing options—often at a lower cost than traditional alternatives.
How Transitional Housing Works
Personalized Placement: Our team will help you identify and arrange housing options that best match your level of care, support needs, and personal goals.
Graduated Independence: As you progress in your recovery, you may be able to move to housing environments with greater autonomy and fewer restrictions, supporting your growth and independence.
Coordination, Not Operation: We coordinate with housing providers on your behalf, but do not operate, manage, or financially support these facilities.

We are committed to full transparency and compliance with all state and federal regulations. Our role is to provide information, support, and arrangement assistance for housing that aligns with your recovery plan—not to offer or induce treatment through housing incentives. Housing is always at the client’s discretion and subject to the independent provider’s terms.
