Anxiety that keeps you awake, pulls you out of work, or turns ordinary days into something you brace for is treatable, and you do not have to step away from your life to treat it.
San Diego Transformation Center provides outpatient anxiety treatment at three levels of intensity, delivered by one team in one location in San Diego. You meet your clinicians at intake and you keep them through the rest of your care.
We treat anxiety on its own and anxiety that arrives alongside depression, trauma, or substance use. Forms of anxiety we work with:
You may be a good fit for our outpatient anxiety program if you:
Anxiety and substance use feed each other, and treating them in separate buildings with separate providers is how people fall through the gap. We treat both in one program, with one clinical team and one plan.
When withdrawal is part of the picture, our ambulatory detox provides medical oversight without a 24-hour inpatient stay. Physicians and nurses supervise it, with 24/7 on-call support, daily monitoring of symptoms and vital signs, and morning or evening appointment options.
Psychiatric symptoms are assessed from the start of treatment rather than after detox ends, so anxiety is not left untreated while withdrawal is managed.
What sits inside a single coordinated plan:
Care runs at three outpatient levels, and you can step up or step down as your symptoms change.
| Level of care | Time commitment | What it focuses on |
|---|---|---|
| PHP Partial Hospitalization Program | 5 to 6 hours a day, 5 to 6 days a week | Daytime structure and stabilization when anxiety is interfering with daily functioning, returning home each evening |
| IOP Intensive Outpatient Program | About 3 hours a day, 3 to 5 days a week, over 6 to 12 weeks | Practising skills in real life while you keep work, school, and family commitments, with evening and weekend tracks |
| OP Outpatient Program | 1 to 2 sessions per week | Ongoing therapy and medication follow-up, as an entry point or a step down from PHP or IOP |
Partial Hospitalization Program (5-6 hours daily, 5-6 days per week): Intensive, coordinated support by day, returning home each evening.
Intensive Outpatient Program (3 hours, 3-5 days/week): Structured support while you keep work, school, and family commitments, with evening and weekend tracks available.
Outpatient Program (1-2 sessions/week): Ongoing therapy and medication follow-up, with evening and select weekend options.
Stability outside the clinic supports recovery inside it. For eligible clients, transitional housing and case management provide a steadier bridge between treatment and independent living.
We accept most insurance plans and will work to maximize your benefits on your behalf. We can verify your coverage confidentially and walk you through your options by level of care.
Yes. We treat anxiety in our outpatient mental health programs, including generalized anxiety and panic, at PHP, IOP, and outpatient levels of care. We also treat anxiety that occurs alongside depression, trauma, or a substance use disorder.
Your clinical assessment decides it, with you in the room. In general, PHP offers the most daytime structure, IOP meets several days a week while you live at home and keep working, and outpatient offers 1 to 2 sessions a week for ongoing support or as a step down. You can move between levels as your symptoms change.
It depends on your level of care. PHP runs 5 to 6 hours a day, 5 to 6 days per week. IOP runs about 3 hours a day, 3 to 5 days a week. Outpatient is 1 to 2 sessions per week.
Length depends on your goals and progress, and your plan is adjusted as you go. Most IOP clients participate for 6 to 12 weeks, with flexibility to extend or adjust. Many adults spend several weeks in PHP. In outpatient, some people benefit from a few months and others continue longer term.
Your plan is built from your assessment and may include CBT, DBT skills, EMDR, mindfulness-based interventions, medication management, group therapy, and family therapy, coordinated under one plan.
Many people do. Our IOP runs an evening track Monday through Thursday and a weekend track on Friday evening plus Saturday and Sunday. Outpatient offers evening and select weekend options.
Both are treated together in one program, with one clinical team and one plan. When withdrawal management is needed, our ambulatory (outpatient) detox provides medical oversight with physician and nurse supervision and 24/7 on-call support, while psychiatric symptoms are assessed from the start of treatment.
